years Job Description Basic Functionality and Responsibility? The Dosimetrist generates radiation dose distributions and calculations in order to create an external beam radiation treatment plan for each patient in accordance with the Radiation Oncologists prescription and according to established procedures.
? Essential Functions? Assist therapist with accurate beam alignment in complicated patient treatment set-ups and treatment simulation procedures.
Be attentive to patient and staff satisfaction results and collaborate with management team on ways to improve the department in general and facility overall.
Seek ways to improve systems and services.
Demonstrate ability to meet and sustain departmental expectations while completing work assignments as it pertains to patient care in an ethical manner.
Maintain integrity of equipment with careful manipulation at all times.
Adhere to radiation safety regulations and standards.
Assist the Medical Physicist in performing quality assurance testing as needed.
Maintain professional education credits.
Prepare and analyze radiation treatments for individual patients adhering to the guidelines of the American Board of Medical Dosimetry.
Prepare chart check and dose summary after completion of therapy for presentation to radiation oncologist.
Our current treatment units include:
A Varian TrueBeam Accelerator (recently upgraded to with HDMLC, electrons, large imaging panel and will have the ability to perform multi-met SRS treatments using Varians HyperArc software, Varian Halcyon with Ethos Software, and Varian Gammed HDR Current Software:
Varians ARIA/Eclipse 16.
1, Velocity, BrachyVision and Variseed, Laps RadCalc 6.
3, RadCalc and Radformations ClearCheck Supervision Received? Under general supervision of the Radiation Oncologist and in consultation with the Radiation Therapy Physicists.
Required Qualifications Requires certification or certification-eligible by the American Board of Medical Dosimetry.
? Preferred Qualifications? Prior experience in Radiation Therapy and dosimetry is preferred.

The employee may be required ambulate, remain in a stationary position and position self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees.
